About
“All perspectives matter, whether in an experimental, poetic or authentical way. Bringing a visual perception to society is more than a personal fulfilment to be seen, but aligns with the responsibility of choosing what is worth expressing, for me, it’s about those things being ignored for a long time.”
-- Dana Wang
Dana Peiyi Wang is a London-based lens-based artist working across fine art photography and moving images. Her practice examines migration, cultural memory, and female subjectivity through observational and socially engaged methodologies.
Since graduating from the University of York in 2024, her work has gained international recognition, including being longlisted for the Aesthetica Art Prize (2026) and exhibiting at venues such as Tate Britain and the Women's Photo Festival in Athens.
“An individual’s harmony with his or her ‘own deep self’ requires not merely a journey to the interior but a harmonising with the environmental worlds.” James Hillman’s words inspired her a lot, where the inner and outer connections between humans and the world are the forever core of her work. Identity, nature, emotions and harmony bring together her enthusiasm and curiosity towards people, enlightening her to tell more stories from all over the world in film, documentary and photography.
